We offer three support options:
1. Support Group Meetings at Children’s Hospital – We will have guest speakers such as neurosurgeons, neurologists, neurosurgery nurse practitioners, physical and occupational therapists etc plus a specific topic to learn about at each meeting. Sample topics could include research on new treatments, shunt technologies, developmental outcomes, transition from child to adult treatment etc.
Upcoming Meeting: February 25, 2016 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm
Ask Your Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioners Anything!
Nadine Nielsen and Laura Zapata will be joining our group for an informal question and answer session where you can ask all of your questions relating to hydrocephalus. They both have many years of experience with patients and families with hydrocephalus.
Meeting will be held at Seattle Children’s Hospital’s dining rooms 1, 2 and 3 Ocean Level 7 by the cafeteria. Dining rooms 1 and 2 will be for set up for childcare and dining room 3 is for the meeting with the adults. Pizza will be provided for dinner.
4800 Sand Point Way
Seattle, WA 98105
Childcare will be provided but you must RSVP with number and ages of children.
Please RSVP to the meeting so we know capacity and how many junior volunteers for childcare will be needed. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
See you there! If you have questions, please email Lori Poliski at email@example.com
2. Online Hydrocephalus Community Forum – Our forum is a hosted as a discussion on the Children’s Hydrocephalus Support Group fan page on Facebook. Become a fan if you want the forum to post a message on the new bulletin board and learn what other parents have to share. If you have a specific question, you just want to share your concerns/emotions or just want to read what other parents have to say.
3. Contact Us – Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Lori 425-482-0479 and we can discuss what you need most ie, to talk to another parent, information, pediatric neurosurgeons in your Northwest region etc. Also if you have an older child with hydrocephalus we can put you in contact with a similiar age child with hydrocephalus for support for your child.
We are here to help you in whatever ways will suit you best. Please let us know how we can help the most!
